Trademark Policy
Electrik, Slate, associated logos, and domain names (including electrik.dev and slate.electrik.dev) are trademarks or brand identifiers of Neeraj Kumar and the Electrik project ("we", "us").
This policy explains acceptable use. It does not replace the software license for Electrik code or the MIT license for Slate.
Permitted uses
You may:
- State truthfully that your product is built with Electrik or uses Slate, without implying official endorsement
- Link to our official sites and GitHub repositories
- Use screenshots of our demo or documentation for review, education, or comparison
- Refer to Electrik/Slate by name in documentation, blog posts, and conference talks
Uses that require permission
Contact [email protected] before:
- Using our logos in your product UI, app store listing, or marketing as if you are Electrik
- Registering domain names, social handles, or company names that include "Electrik" or "Slate" in a confusing way
- Implying partnership, sponsorship, or certification by Electrik when none exists
- Selling merchandise bearing our marks
Prohibited uses
You may not:
- Use our trademarks in a way that suggests we endorse or guarantee your product
- Modify our logos or combine them with marks that could cause confusion
- Use our trademarks in violation of applicable law
Open source and trademarks
The BSL and MIT licenses grant rights in source code, not in trademarks. You may fork and modify code under the applicable license; you may not rebrand a derivative as "official Electrik" or "official Slate."
Enforcement
We may request changes to misleading uses. Repeated or bad-faith misuse may result in legal action.
